2018 NYS Men's Senior & Super Senior Amateur Championships

Entry Information

 
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $225. This includes the practice round and at least two competitvie rounds of golf with a cart, access to the driving range, dinner, a customized tee gift, and prizes.

 

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

• Membership: Be a member of the NYSGA, defined as either (1) belonging to an NYSGA member club or (2) joining the NYSGA as an 2018 NYSGA eClub member. Note, to be eligible to compete as an NYSGA eClub member, entrants must also be a NYS resident (click here to learn more).
• Handicap: Have a USGA Handicap Index issued by an NYSGA member club of 12.0 or less.
• Age Be at least 55 years old as of September, 2018.:

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS AND AGE GROUPS

A player will compete in one of two championships: the 62nd NYS Men’s Senior Amateur Championship (Ages 55-64) or the 23rd NYS Men’s Super Senior Amateur Championship (ages 65+). 

 

In addition to competing in one of the championships listed above, players will also compete within the following age divisions: 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+).

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field size is limited to 132 players. If more than 132 players register,  the field will be comprised of the 132 players with the lowest USGA Handicap Index as of the entry deadline (August 15th Revision). Players on the wait list will be ordered by their USGA Handicap Index (lowest to highest). A player on the wait list who does not gain entrance into the championship field will have their full entry refunded.

TRANSPORTATION
The use of golf carts is mandatory and is included in the entry fee.

REFUND POLICY

The entry fee will be refunded if a player withdraws prior to the close of entries, less a $10 fee. After the close of entries, a refund less a $50 fee (conditions apply).

 

DRESS CODE

The NYSGA will strictly enforce a tournament dress code with no exceptions. Collared shirts/mock turtle necks are required, and no jeans, denim, jogging outfits, or sweat pants are permitted.

 

PLAYER CONDUCT

Players and/or their guests must conduct themselves in a reasonable manner at all times. Any excessive display of anger, vulgar language, club throwing, alcohol abuse, illegal drug use, lack of golfing etiquette or disrespect to a fellow player or any other individual may be grounds or disqualification from any tournament. The NYSGA reserves the right to revoke a player's tournament entry, without a refund, at any time for conduct deemed inappropriate or damaging to the NYSGA.
